McAdorey, Maguire Named USILA Preseason All-Americans

DURHAM, N.C.—The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association has announced its 2025 Division I preseason All-Americans in advance of week one of the NCAA Division I lacrosse season. The Duke duo of Andrew McAdorey and Aidan Maguire garnered first-team honors.
These preseason honors are the latest for McAdorey and Maguire. Both also were recognized by Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine as premier players.
In Week 0 action, McAdorey dished out three assists as a starter in the midfield. Entering his final season as a Blue Devil, McAdorey has played both attack and midfield during his career. He is the team's top returning scorer with 28 goals and nine assists on the first midfield line a year ago and is on pace to become the 24th Blue Devil to record 100 career goals. A first-team All-America choice last season, McAdorey has 87 goals and 53 assists for 140 points in his career.
Duke's leader on the rope unit, Maguire already owns one in-season award in 2025, garnering the ACC Defensive Player of the Week nod following his season-opening performance. He matched his career-best two caused turnovers and four ground balls as Duke held Bellarmine to just seven goals and without a goal for over 20 minutes in the first half. The native of Hingham, Massachusetts notched his ninth career goal early in the third stanza, sparking an 8-2 quarter for the Blue Devils.
Playing in 39 career games, Maguire has 27 career caused turnovers, leaving him 12 shy of climbing into the top 10 in Duke history.
The Blue Devils hit the road for the first time this season Feb. 8. Duke and Jacksonville face off at noon at D.B. Milne Field on ESPN+.
