DURHAM, N.C. — In six weeks, the Duke fencing team will hit the strips to kick off the 2025-26 season as announced by head coach
Omar Elgeziry. Duke's 2025-26 campaign features seven regular season events and is highlighted by the return of the ACC Championships to Durham in February.
Duke will host the second annual Beguinet Classic, Feb. 7, for its lone regular season home contest. The Blue Devils will travel to Philadelphia for a pair of invitationals and to Penn State for a third trip outside of the local triangle.
Back-to-Back-to-Back Weekends
The season gets underway with the 45th annual Coach Nikki Franke Classic hosted by Temple, Oct. 25-26. Duke's
Charlotte Koenig took gold in foil last season as the Blue Devil women finished with a trio of podium finishes. The men posted four top-10 performances last year.
Duke makes the trip down Tobacco Road to battle North Carolina Nov. 1. The Blue Devil men defeated the Tar Heels in the matchup last season while the women lost a narrow 15-12 match.
The Blue Devils close out the calendar year the following Sunday, Nov. 9, in Columbus, Ohio, at the Elite Invitational hosted by Ohio State. The two-day event features some of the nation's top-ranked fencing programs.
Resuming Action in 2026
Duke picks up its weapons again Jan. 17-18 at the Philadelphia Invitational hosted by Penn. The women had a fantastic showing in 2025, going 9-1 on the weekend while the men finished 6-3.
The Blue Devils head back to the Keystone State the next weekend for the Penn State Invitational before getting a break from traveling for a week. The Beguinet Classic comes to Durham Feb. 7 before Duke caps the regular season at the Miller Invitational at North Carolina Feb. 8.
Postseason Action
The postseason begins in Durham with the ACC Championships Feb. 21-22. All of the action will take place in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Following a week off, the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional event takes place March 7 at a location to be determined.
The season concluded with the NCAA Championships hosted by Notre Dame, March 19-22 at the Joyce Center. Duke took 12th place last season with
Rachel Koo earning All-America honors in women's foil.
