DURHAM – Duke men's lacrosse All-Americans
Andrew McAdorey and
Jake Naso continue to bring in honors, earning CSC Academic All-District At-Large recognition as announced by College Sports Communicators. McAdorey and Naso were selected as finalists to advance to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America.
McAdorey and Naso are the seventh and eight different Blue Devils to garner all-district awards. It is the ninth and 10th time Duke has landed a spot on the squad with
Max Quinzani doing so three times.
Wilson Stephenson is the most recent honoree, earning all-district and All-America third team honors in 2023.
A versatile offensive player, McAdorey led Duke's first midfield unit with 28 goals and nine assists for 37 points. He scored at least a point in 18 of 19 games this season and registered at least one goal in 16 of those. Returning to midfield after one season at attack, McAdorey did not miss a beat. He had multiple goals in eight games and finished the ACC slate with six goals and one assist for seven points. The St. Anthony's product has started all 55 games in his career and has 87 goals and 50 assists for 137 points. In the classroom, McAdorey has a 3.55 GPA as a political science major. He is a three-time All-ACC Academic team member.
Duke's faceoff leader for the past four years, Naso has cemented himself in both the Duke and the NCAA record books. Naso, Duke's record holder in faceoff wins (1,001) and ground balls (554), has been incredibly consistent for the Blue Devils in winning 59.3 percent of his faceoffs. Earning USILA first-team All-America honors as a junior, Naso won a career-best 315 faceoffs to rank tied for fifth in NCAA Division I history. Playing in 69 career games, Naso's 1,001 victories at the dot and 554 ground balls rank seventh in NCAA history, while his 1,660 faceoffs taken are the second most of any Division I player all-time.
Naso recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science, finishing his undergraduate studies with a 3.54 GPA. The first men's lacrosse player to garner an ACC Postgraduate Scholarship, Naso will pursue a Master of Management Studies degree from Duke's Fuqua School of Business next year.
NCAA and NAIA Men's At-Large Academic All-America® First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced Wednesday, July 17. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with managing the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
