DURHAM, N.C. – Duke men's lacrosse senior Andrew McAdorey has been named to the 2023-24 Academic All-America® men's at-large second team as selected by College Sports Communicators.
McAdorey is the seventh different member of the Blue Devils men's lacrosse program to garner the recognition, joining Ed Douglas, Max Quinzani, CJ Costabile, Jordan Wolf, Deemer Class and Wilson Stephenson. It is the ninth time a Duke men's lacrosse student-athlete has been selected as an Academic All-American®.
A versatile offensive player, McAdorey led Duke's first midfield unit in 2024 with 28 goals and nine assists for 37 points. He scored at least a point in 18 of 19 games this season and registered at least one goal in 16 of those, en route to earning USILA All-America first team and All-ACC honors.
Returning to midfield this season after spending the 2023 campaign at attack, McAdorey did not miss a beat. He had multiple goals in 10 games and finished the ACC slate with six goals and one assist for seven points. The Manorville, New York native tallied a career-high five goals when he moved to attack in the ACC Semifinal win over Syracuse.
As a freshman, McAdorey set the Duke rookie record for points by a midfielder with 39. He has started all 55 games in his career and has 87 goals and 50 assists for 137 points. In the classroom, McAdorey has a 3.55 GPA as a political science major. He is a three-time All-ACC Academic team member.
