BETHEL, Ohio – The 16th-ranked Blue Devils closed out the final day of competition at the 2024 NCAA Rowing Championships at East Fork/Harsha Lake in Bethel, Ohio.
As a team, the Blue Devils finished 16th against a tough 22-team field with 46 points in the championship after advancing all three boats to C Final races. Duke was one of three ACC teams to compete in the three-day regatta, joining Syracuse (11th) and Virginia (13th).
The Blue Devils' Varsity Four opened the final day of racing with a strong second-place finish in the C Final. The crew of coxswain

Eliza Straayer registered a time of 7:17.370, just three seconds behind the first-place boat from Virginia.
The Second Varsity Eight followed with a third-place performance in their C Final race after powering past crews from No. 11 Indiana, Gonzaga and Boston U. to cross the finish line in 6:42.843.
Duke's Varsity Eight rounded out the competition with a fourth-place time of 6:34.051. The V8 stayed competitive with three nationally ranked crews in No. 14 Virginia, No. 12 Indiana and No. 13 Rutgers, trailing by just 6.63, 5.36 and 2.82 seconds, respectively.
