BETHEL, Ohio - Duke advanced all three boats to the C/D semifinal after the first day of competition Friday at the 2024 NCAA Rowing Championship at East Fork/Harsha Lake in Bethel, Ohio.Â
All semifinal racing will be Saturday with the finals scheduled for Sunday. Action will be streamed on NCAA.com.Â
Duke's 16th-seeded V8 placed fourth in the first heat with a time of 7:09.488, behind Texas (6:48.628), Brown (6:55.057) and Syracuse (7:02.010). Duke will face Jacksonville, Indiana, Northeastern and Rhode Island Saturday at 8:12 a.m., in the C/D semifinal.Â
In the second heat of the 2V8, the Blue Devils' 15th-seeded boat came in fourth in 7:19.091, finishing after Washington (6:58.424), Tennessee (7:02.803) and Michigan (7:09.561). They will face Rhode Island, Gonzaga, Indiana and Northeastern in the C/D semifinal at 9:13 a.m.Â
Lastly, Duke's 10th-seeded V4 boat tallied a fourth-place finish in the second heat in 8:06.503. The Blue Devils finished behind Texas (7:43.529), Tennessee (7:47.413) and Penn (8:02.182). They are slated to take on Rhode Island, Gonzaga, Virginia and Northeastern in the C/D semifinal at at 9:48 a.m.Â
