Katie DeSimone was named a 2024 DI All-American by
Inside Lacrosse, the organization announced.
DeSimone was tabbed an honorable mention selection after being named IWLCA first team All-South Region on Thursday.
DeSimone was stellar this season for the Blue Devils, putting up impressive numbers as one of the nation's top attackers.
She led the team and finished the season tied for 18th nationally in goals (63) and tied for 23rd in points (85). She was just the third active player in Division I with at least 190 career goals and 75 career assists as of May 9th and is the only player in Duke history with those numbers.
This season, she owns hat tricks in all but five games and has 11 games with five-or-more points, including six points in the NCAA Tournament first round game against Loyola. DeSimone has also grabbed 14 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Over the course of her career, she tallied 34 hat tricks and 36 games with four-or-more points.
The Bay Shore, N.Y., native finished her career as one of the Duke greats with 196 career goals and 273 career points as Duke's second all-time leading goal scorer. Her points rank her fourth in Duke lore. Her career numbers put her 15th (goals) and 18th (points) among NCAA Division I active players.
