CHARLOTTE - Senior Katie DeSimone and freshman Bella Goodwin earned all-conference recognition as the ACC announced the 2024 All-ACC Women's Lacrosse Teams on Tuesday.
DeSimone earned a spot on the first team while Goodwin was named to the all-freshman team. This is DeSimone's fourth time receiving All-ACC accolades. She was named to the second team the prior two seasons and to the all-freshman team as a rookie in 2021.
DeSimone has been stellar this season for the Blue Devils, putting up impressive numbers as one of the nation's top attackers.
She leads the team and is tied for 10th nationally in goals (58) and tied for 17th in points (79). She is just the third active player in Division I with at least 190 career goals and 75 career assists and is the only player in Duke history with those numbers.
This season, she owns hat tricks in all but five games and has 10 games with five-or-more points. DeSimone has also grabbed 14 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. She owns seven games with four-or-more games and 10 games with five-or-more points, including a career-high 11 points against High Point.
The Bay Shore, N.Y., native ranks third in program history with 191 career goals and fourth with 267 career points, numbers that put her 13th and 15th among NCAA Division I active players. Duke's career points record is 287, held by Blue Devil great Katie Chrest Erbe.
Goodwin has made a statement as a freshman this season and earned a starting role the last 10 games. She owns 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points to rank ninth on the team.
She has also grabbed 21 draw controls, four ground balls and a caused turnover. She scored a career-high three points against Winthrop and East Carolina. Goodwin also tied her career high of two goals in the win over the Pirates where she grabbed five draw controls.
Duke will take on No. 3 Boston College Wednesday evening in ACC Tournament Quarterfinal action. Opening draw is set for 8 p.m., on ACCN at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte.
