HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Devils were quick to jump ahead after scoring 11 runs off 11 hits in the opening frame.
- Sophomore Aminah Vega went yard in the bottom of the second with a three-run shot out of right center field to extend the lead to 14-0.
- Walker took over for Drogemuller in the top of the third inning and sat the Bison down in order to continue the shutout.
- The Blue Devils used an infield single, Bison error and a walk to load the bases again before Gold sent another ball over the left field fence to round out Duke's 18 runs.
- Curd entered the circle in the top of the fifth and struck out the final three batters to seal the victory.
NOTES
- Duke's 11 runs in the bottom of the first set a program record of runs scored in a single inning.
- Gold's eight RBI on the night also set a single-game program record, passing Kamryn Jackson's mark of seven against Rutgers in 2020.
- She tallied the fourth multi-home run game of her career.
- Drogemuller earned her first win of the season in the circle, allowing just one hit in 2.0 innings.
- Freshman Linh Le made her Blue Devil debut in the fourth inning, seeing action at first base.
