DURHAM, N.C. –The United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) announced the 15 women's soccer semifinalists for the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy on Wednesday with Duke graduate student
Maggie Graham among those selected.
Graham has featured a breakout season offensively for the top-ranked Blue Devils with a team-high 14 goals along with five assists and 33 points, while helping lead Duke to its fifth NCAA College Cup appearance. On the season, she owns five game-winning goals and three matches with two or more tallies. Graham has played her best against the top competition with seven of her 14 goals coming against ranked opponents.
In the ACC stats, Graham ranks second in game-winning goals (5), fourth in goals per game (0.67), fourth in goals (14), fifth in points (33) and eighth in points per game (1.57). Among the national stats, Graham is 16th in goals, 17th in game-winning goals, 22nd in goals per game and eighth in points per game.
The 2024 ACC Midfielder of the Year and First Team All-ACC selection previously had a career-best four goals and 14 points as a junior. Four of her five game-winning goals have come against nationally ranked opponents – No. 2 North Carolina, No. 7 Stanford, No. 8 North Carolina and No. 17 Texas Tech.
On the road at Stanford, Graham tied a then school record with a hat trick, while setting a then program record with seven points as the Blue Devils snapped a 34-match home unbeaten streak for the Cardinal. The hat trick was just the second in Duke history in ACC regular season play. Graham's two goals in the first 4:07 of the match were also the two quickest goals in Duke history and her two goals in a span of 14 seconds were also a record.
Graham played in her 100th career match against Virginia Tech, becoming the third Blue Devil to reach the 100-game mark --
Delaney Graham and
Mackenzie Pluck. Her five game-winning goals are also a career high as she owns eight over her Blue Devil career to rank tied for 17th.
Next up for Graham and the No. 1 ranked Blue Devils will be eighth-ranked North Carolina for a fourth time this season on Friday, Dec. 6 in the NCAA College Cup. The match will kick at 7:30 p.m., live on ESPNU from WakeMed Soccer Park.
