KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second time over the last three years, Duke women's soccer will be represented at the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy banquet as Blue Devil graduate student
Maggie Graham was named one of three finalists for the prestigious award on Wednesday, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club.
Graham, along with Kate Faasse of North Carolina and Caiya Hanks of Wake Forest were tabbed Hermann Trophy finalists with the award being presented on Jan. 3, 2025 at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
In her fifth and final season with the Blue Devils, Graham made the most of it with a team-best 14 goals along with five assists for a team-best 33 points. She went from scoring one goal in 2023 and a total of eight goals over her first four seasons at Duke to 14 in 2024.
Graham, who hails from Atlanta, Ga., notched five game-winning goals and three matches with two or more tallies. The ACC Midfielder of the Year played her best against the top competition with seven of her 14 goals coming against ranked opponents. Four of her five game-winning goals came against nationally ranked opponents as well – No. 2 North Carolina, No. 7 Stanford, No. 8 North Carolina and No. 17 Texas Tech.
In the ACC stats, Graham ranked second in game-winning goals (5), fourth in goals per game (0.64), fourth in goals (14), sixth in points (33) and sixth in points per game (1.50). Among the national stats, Graham was 16th in goals, 17th in game-winning goals, 26th in goals per game and 19th in points.
Graham became one of just three Blue Devils to see action in over 100 career matches and competed in 6,487 career minutes.
The Hermann Trophy, known as the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer, has been awarded annually since 1967.
Graham helped the Blue Devils to a very impressive season with an 18-3-1 overall and 9-0-1 ACC ledger. Duke advanced to the NCAA College Cup for the fifth time in program history, won the ACC Regular Season title for the fourth time in Blue Devil history and sent head coach
Robbie Church off into retirement after one of the most impressive seasons in Duke history.
