Blue Devils Complete Meet Day One Against Northwestern

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke swimming and diving concluded the first day of competition against Northwestern on Friday evening at the Taishoff Aquatics Center, as the women lead the Wildcats 98-66, while the men trail 116.5-49.5.
NOTABLES
To begin the first day of action, Duke's women's 400 Medley Relay team consisting of Ali Pfaff, Kaelyn Gridley, Aleyna Ozkan, and Tatum Wall, touched in first with a time of 3:30.46, setting a new pool record for the Taishoff Aquatics Center.
In the women's 1650 Freestyle, Audrey Portelloand Ella Passefinished second with a time of 16:51.15.
Yixuan Changchased down a first-place finish in the 200 Freestyle on Friday, touching with a time of 1:47.10.
In the men's 200 Freestyle, JC Castrillontouched in third, clocking a time of 1:38.83.
Molly Donlanand Clare Logantallied a first and second-place finish in the 100 Backstroke, touching with times of 53.94 and 54.42.
In the three-meter diving event, Margo O'Mearacollected a first-place finish, tallying a score of 358.58, while Keira Lufinished in third with a score of 326.25.
Yannis Schattmansecured a first-place finish in the men's one-meter event on Friday, tallying a score of 354.83.
In the men's 100 Breaststroke, Kalen Anbarand Jack Smithtallied second and third-place finishes, touching with times of 54.86 and 54.96.
Martina Peroniclaimed a first-place finish in the 200 Butterfly, touching with a time of 1:56.62, while Kyra Sommerstadtook home a second-place finish with a time of 1:58.48.
In the 200 Butterfly on the men's side, Duke's Yugo Tsukikawatouched in third with a time of 1:48.41.
In the women's 50 Freestyle, Tatum Wallclocked a time of 22.07 to finish first, while Ali Pfafftouched with a time of 22.58 for third.
UP NEXT
The Blue Devils and Wildcats continue the two-day meet from the Taishoff Aquatics Center on Saturday afternoon. Diving will begin at 10 a.m. and swimming will begin at 11 a.m.
