DURHAM, N.C. —Following a weekend where he secured four victories, Duke redshirt sophomore
Connor Barket was tabbed ACC Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the league office.
Seeing action at heavyweight, Barket went 4-0 against eighth-ranked Michigan, 23rd-ranked Utah Valley, American and Presbyterian to move to 13-2 on the season. Barket is riding a nine-match winning streak heading into the Thanksgiving break.
On the weekend, Barket opened with an 8-5 decision over Michigan's Ira Jenkins and then collected a 5-0 victory versus Emmanual Ulrich of American.
Barket then posted the first ranked victory of his collegiate career as he collected a late escape and takedown to come-from-behind to defeat 33rd-ranked Jack Forbes of Utah Valley. With a fall at 4:08, Barket closed the weekend with a win over Presbyterian's Morvens Saint Jean.
The honor for Barket is the second of his collegiate career as he received ACC Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 23 of last year.
Next up for Duke will be Davidson at home in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
