DURHAM, N.C. – Duke softball kicks off its 2024 fall ball slate on Saturday, welcoming East Carolina to Duke Softball Stadium for a 1 p.m. contest.
Duke leads the all-time series with East Carolina, 5-1, after meeting for the first time in 2018. The last matchup was in April with the Blue Devils defeating the Pirates, 10-1, in a single non-conference game at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.
The Blue Devils are coming off their strongest campaign in program history, finishing with a 52-9 overall ledger, capturing the program's second ACC Championship, third straight NCAA Super Regional appearance and advancing to the Women's College World Series for the first time in program history.
Young returns 11 letterwinners from last season and welcomed seven newcomers in freshmen
