DURHAM, N.C. – For the second straight week and the fourth time this season, Duke women's soccer sophomore
Mia Oliaro has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week on Tuesday, following a week in which she scored twice and registered an assist for the No. 1 ranked Blue Devils.
Oliaro, who hails from Chapel Hill, N.C., was clutch on Sunday evening on the road at second-ranked Wake Forest as she helped lead Duke to a 2-0 victory over the Demon Deacons to clinch just the fourth ACC Regular Season title in Blue Devil history. Oliaro registered her second career brace in the second half to lead Duke to the win in front of a record crowd at Spry Stadium. The two goals were tied for the most allowed by Wake Forest on the season.
Earlier in the week, Oliaro tallied an assist on the game-tying goal in the 55th minute as the Blue Devils registered a 3-3 draw with seventh-ranked Notre Dame. Oliaro played the entire 90 minutes in both matches at wingback and has collected a brace in two out of the last three contests.
She has tallied an eight-match streak of either scoring or assisting, which is the longest current mark in the ACC and tied for the second-longest streak in program history.
Oliaro now owns an ACC-best 20 points and eight assists to go along with six goals in league regular season action. Her 20 points are tied for the most in Duke history in ACC action, while her eight assists is a new Blue Devil record.
Duke (13-1-1, 8-0-1 ACC) closes the regular season Thursday, Oct. 31 at fourth-ranked North Carolina with a 7 p.m., opening kick live on ACC Network Extra.
