DURHAM, N.C. — A pair of Duke women's soccer standouts –
Daya King and
Rylee McLanahan – have been named to the United States Under-19 Women's National Team that will travel to Frankfurt, Germany from May 31-June 10 for a training camp and two matches against the host nation.
The matches will take place June 5 and June 9 at the DFB Campus, Germany's national training center in Frankfurt.
King, a native of Moreno Valley, California, started all 22 matches as a rookie for the Blue Devils in 2025 and earned All-ACC Freshman Team and TopDrawerSoccer Best XI Freshman First Team accolades. Her 1,911 minutes played were the fifth-most by a Duke freshman in program history and led all ACC rookies. King, a rising sophomore defender, represented the United States at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and the 2024 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship in Mexico.
The No. 6 overall recruit in the Class of 2026, McLanahan continues to compete with the U-19 squad after traveling to Portugal in February of 2026 and in 2025. McLanahan, who hails from Edmond, Oklahoma, was one of the nation's top scorers this past high school season, totaling 107 goals, 42 assists and 256 points in 45 matches at Edmond North High School. She is a two-time Oklahoma Girls' Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year.
The U.S. U-19 Women's National Team has played five international matches this year – three in Portugal and two in Argentina – and has compiled a 4-0-1 record.
The camp and matches are part of the federation's continued focus on the
U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for youth national teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior national team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
