The First Hit
- No. 11 Duke takes its three-game shutout streak 83 miles west to Kentner Stadium on Wake Forest's campus Friday. First hit is set for 5 p.m. and will be the Blue Devils' lone game this weekend.
- Duke found the back of the cage seven times last weekend with five different Blue Devils scoring. Featuring one of the best defenses in the nation, Duke has allowed just five live action goals and ranks second in goals against average and shutouts. Alaina McVeigh is the top scorer with 17 points from eight goals and an assist.
- Wake Forest enters the weekend set against Duke and Louisville with a 4-6 overall record and 0-2 mark in conference action. The Deacons haven't played an ACC game since a 1-0 setback to Syracuse Sept. 27. Wake Forest is 3-2 at home and five of its six setbacks this year have been by a single goal, including a shootout loss to Iowa.

A Glance at the Blue Devils
- The Blue Devils are 7-4 overall with a 3-1 mark in ACC play. Duke climbed back into the top 10 ... All four setbacks are against top-20 foes and three versus top 10 teams. Duke has allowed just five goals in live action and has seven shutouts. Alaina McVeigh is the top threat offensively with eight markers this season. Eight different Blue Devils have scored overall.
- Defensively, Duke is allowing just 7.2 shots per game and 4.4 penalty corners per game. Duke ranks second nationally with seven shutouts and Frederique Wollaert leads the nation with 0.39 goals against average. The Blue Devils own a commanding 42-9 edge in shots, a 16-3 advantage in penalty corners and 5-0 lead in goals in the third quarter.
Series History
- Duke and Wake Forest meet for the 85th time in the two programs' storied histories. The Blue Devils are 46-38 all-time against the Demon Deacons and are on a two-game win streak. Wake Forest has won four of the past six and is 18-15 at home versus Duke. The Blue Devils last beat Wake Forest in Winston-Salem in 2018, a 3-2 victory.

- Duke's defense has been outstanding this season, giving up just five goals in live action. The sixth goal allowed was the shootout goal that lifted Saint Joseph's to a 1-0 victory. The five goals allowed are the fewest given up by the Blue Devils through 11 games under head coach Pam Bustin and tied for the second fewest in program history.
- Duke has allowed just one goal in live action in the past 340 minutes and only two in the past 540 minutes. Since letting in two goals at Northwestern, Duke sports a 0.23 goals against average - two goals in 520 minutes of action.
Let's Go DPC
- Duke's defensive penalty corner unit has been outstanding this season. Of the 44 penalty corners given up, the Blue Devils have given up just four goals - two of which came at Northwestern. The DPC has blocked 25 shots and allowed just 14 on goal with nine being stopped by Frederique Wollaert. On five penalty corners, Duke's opponent was unable to even get a shot off.
Fred On Cusp of Historic Season
- Graduate student goalkeeper Frederique Wollaert is having an historic season in the goal cage. She currently leads the nation with a 0.39 goals against average. Her current GAA would be a Duke single-season record and rank tied for sixth in NCAA history. Only 17 goalkeepers in NCAA history have registered a goals against average of 0.50 or lower. The lowest GAA in the 21st century was 0.44 in 2009.

Next Game
