DURHAM – The No. 4 Duke men's soccer team opens its season on Friday, Aug. 25, hosting Jacksonville at 7:30 p.m., inside Koskinen Stadium. The match is available for fans to watch on ACC Network Extra, with Luke Hallett on the call.
Duke's match is the second of the day, as part of the 2023 John Rennie Invitational. The first game of the day features defending CAA champion Elon matched up against Furman, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. Tickets purchased are good for both contests.

BUILDING ON '22 MOMENTUM
- Duke is coming off an undefeated regular season in 2022, finishing the season with a 13-2-4 record
- The Blue Devils won the ACC Coastal for the second consecutive season with an unblemished 5-0-3 ACC ledger and made its eighth appearance in the NCAA Tournament under head coach John Kerr advancing to the quarterfinals
- Kamran Acito returns after winning ACC Freshman of the Year, and is joined by ACC honorees Nick Pariano and Amir Daley (All-ACC second team), Antino Lopez (All-ACC third team) and All-ACC Freshman selections Kenan Hot and Axel Gudbjornsson

DUKE IN THE POLLS
- The Blue Devils begin their 2023 season ranked No. 4 in the country by United Soccer Coaches
- The top-five ranking is the highest Duke has started a season since 2007, when it also was tabbed fourth
- Despite the loss of players like Shakur Mohammed and Peter Stroud, the Blue Devils are held in high regard nationally after finishing the 2022 season ranked No. 3 in the country and only dropping one spot to start the 2023 schedule
ON THE BRINK OF 150
- Head Coach John Kerr currently sits on 149 victories at the helm of the Duke men's soccer program and will become just the second Duke head coach to reach 150 wins with the program, joining legendary coach John Rennie.
- Kerr's mentor and head coach, John Rennie, won 410 games in his 29 seasons at Duke and still ranks 22nd all-time across all three divisions with 454 wins overall. He is ninth among Division I coaches.
- Kerr's current .580Â win percentage at Duke (149-103-37) is fourth among Duke coaches with Rennie leading the way at .706.
