AUSTIN, Texas – Duke track and field opened competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Wednesday with senior
Luke Jackson, the Blue Devils' lone competitor of the day, one-upping his performance from the 2022 national meet en route to collecting USTFCCCA All-America Second Team honors.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jackson was named a USTFCCCA All-American for the second year in a row after turning in another solid performance amid a stacked NCAA Outdoor Championships competition field.
- The Haughton, La., native came through with his biggest throw on his third attempt as he launched the javelin 70.18m (230-3 feet) – good for 14th overall and a nod to the second team.
- Jackson's recorded measurement was also nearly a seven-meter improvement from the mark he registered at the 2022 meet (63.89m (209-7 feet)).
