JT Giles-Harris anchored a stellar defensive effort to help lead the United States Men's National Team to a 19-3 win over Israel in the 2023 World Lacrosse Men's Championship quarterfinal Wednesday night. Blue Devil attackman
Dyson Williams tossed in three goals and an assist in Canada's 20-1 win over Jamaica.
Both the United States and Canada advance to the semifinals set for Thursday night. The U.S. takes on Australia, which defeated England 10-5, at 10 p.m. (ET). Canada matches up against the Haudenosaunee earlier in the evening at 8 p.m. (ET). Both can be seen live on ESPN2, ESPN+ and TSN.
O'Neill started the scoring for the United States with his patented fake shot fake to face-dodge combo. He added two more goals and two assists in the winning effort. Sowers dropped in two goals and dished three assists to push his tournament points total to 12. O'Neill has 13 in five games.
Giles-Harris had one caused turnover as the United States allowed just one goal in the final 41:29. Rob Pannell was the story of the game as the veteran attackman surpassed National Lacrosse Hall of Fame attackman Mark Millon as the all-time leading scorer in U.S. Men's National Team history.
Williams and Canada head into the semifinals after a dominant performance against Jamaica. The Oshawa, Ontario native has 10 points in five games, notching a pair of hat tricks versus Australia and Jamaica.
The semifinal winners advance to the Gold Medal game set for July 1 at 7 p.m. (ET) on ESPN2.
