DURHAM – Fifty members of the Duke track and field program were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the outdoor track and field season, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
The Duke women's squad featured 25 individuals on the list –
Sara Absten, Chinenye Agina, Dana Baker, Emily Cole, Anna Corcoran, Karly Forker, Abby Geiser, Arianna Gragg, Julia Jackson, Carly King, Anoush Krafian, Gianna Locci, Amina Maatoug, Megan McGinnis, Moorea Mitchell, Madison Mulder, Allison Neiders, Rylie Pease, Emily Sloan, Brianna Smith, Paige Sommers, Ilhame Tamrouti, Charlotte Tomkinson, Isabel Wakefield and
Kirstin West.
On the men's side,
Jide Akinjisola, Beau Allen, Zach Barry, Guinness Brown, Scott Campbell, Rory Cavan, Nick Dahl, Joe DiDario, Carter Dillon, Max Forte, Austin Gabay, Davis Howell, Tyler Hrbek, Luke Jackson, Zach Kinne, Jared Kreis, James Lee, Owen MacKenzie, Ezra Mellinger, Robbie Otal, Alejandro Rodriguez, Myles Schreck, Jackson Walker, Bri'Yon Watts and
Beck Wittstadt are the 25 individuals representing the Blue Devils.
Agina, Allen, Baker, Cole, Geiser, J. Jackson, L. Jackson, King, Maatoug, McGinnis, Mulder, Otal, Tamrouti and Wakefield competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, with each earning All-America honors headlined by Maatoug's fifth-place finish in the 5,000m. Several more of this season's All-ACC Academic honorees earned All-ACC distinctions at the ACC Outdoor Championships.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Outdoor Track and Field Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and/or the NCAA Outdoor Championships during the most recent season.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
