THE OPENING FACEOFF
	- The 2023 Men's Lacrosse Championship Weekend kicks off Saturday with Duke and Penn State squaring off and Notre Dame and Virginia following. The games will be televised live by ESPN2 with Anish Shroff, Quint Kessenich and Paul Carcaterra on the calls. Tickets are still available and can be purchased here.
- Duke, 15-2 on the year, is the top seed in the NCAA Tournament and takes on Penn State in the NCAA Semifinals Saturday. Faceoff is set for 12 p.m., at Lincoln Financial Field. This is the first meeting between the two since 2010.
- Penn State, the No. 5 seed, advanced to the NCAA Semifinals, holding off Army 10-9 in the quarterfinal game. The Nittany Lions are making their second Championship Weekend appearance in the past four NCAA Tournaments.
- The attack unit of Andrew McAdorey, Brennan O'Neill and Dyson Williams have paced the Blue Devils. The trio is averaging 8.5 goals and 12.4 points per game and has 54 percent of the team's 393 points. Duke has gotten goals from 23 different players this season.
- Duke's defense has been solid overall, holding teams to just .281 shooting and to 10.5 goals per game. The Blue Devils recently held Michigan to just eight goals, tying its fewest of the season.
- Graduate student William Helm is solid in the cage, averaging 10.35 saves per game and sporting a .524 save percentage.
- Junior faceoff specialist Jake Naso features a .629 win percentage at the dot to rank sixth nationally. He ranks third in faceoffs taken  (450) and first in faceoffs won (283). Chase Mullins takes the majority of faceoffs for Penn State and is 144-of-308 (.468) .

SERIES HISTORY
	- Duke and Penn State meet for the ninth time in the programs' histories and for the first time since 2010. The Blue Devils are a perfect 8-0 against the Nittany Lions. This is the first time Duke has faced Penn State in the NCAA Tournament.
- Johns Hopkins, Maryland, Michigan and Ohio State are the Big Ten programs Duke has faced since the conference, as it stands now, was formed in 2015. Duke is 4-3 against them with all seven games coming in NCAA postseason action.
FRISOLI FAMILY AFFAIR IN PHILADELPHIA
¡ It will be a weekend full of lacrosse for the Frisoli family. Brothers Jack and 
Will Frisoli will suit up together for the final time as Blue Devils in search of an NCAA title. Their younger brothers, Ben and Sam, will do the same for Tufts University Sunday in the NCAA Division III National Championship game. Ben is an LSM, like Will, while Sam is a midfielder for the Jumbos. Both have played every game this season for 22-0 Tufts.
 
BREAKING DOWN BRENNAN O'NEILL'S PRODUCTION
	- O'Neill has led Duke in points in 12 of the 17 games this season, notching nine hat tricks, dishing three-plus assists eight times and scoring at least five points in 11 games.
- O'Neill's ability to create his own shot and finish makes him a nightmare matchup for opponents. Of his 51 goals this season, 76 percent (39) have come unassisted. Six of the 12 assisted tallies have come on man-up. He recently recorded seven assists to become one of five players to have at least seven assists in a game.

	- The winner advances to the NCAA title game Memorial Day, May 29 against either Virginia or Notre Dame. Faceoff is set for 1 p.m., on ESPN.
