DURHAM – With the 2023 collegiate fencing season in the books, a combined 23 Duke fencers garnered spots on the All-ACC Academic Men's and Women's Fencing Teams, as announced by the conference office Monday. Junior foilist
Christina Ferrari was tabbed the ACC Fencing Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the women.
The Blue Devils honored on the men's side were

Lukas Dannull,
Ryan Pelosky,
Stephen Kim and
Terence Lee. On the women's side,

Chloe Beittel, Ferrari,
Hava Stone,
Kunling Tong,
Lulu Tang,
Monica Balakrishnan,
Rachel Koo,
Rachel Kowalsky,
Sarah Lurye,
Skylar Knight and
Zsofia Walter were recognized.
Ferrari was an NCAA Championships qualifier in foil for the third straight year in 2023, finishing just outside of All-America status with a 13th-place finish. A USFCA Second-Team All-Mid-Atlantic/South Region honoree, Ferrari went 47-8 in regular-season duals. The junior from Armonk, New York, has now been selected to the All-ACC Academic Team in each of the last three seasons. She is majoring in linguistics.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in either the ACC Championship or NCAA Championship this season.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
