NOTES
- Senior Jason White recorded two innings of two-hit baseball to begin Wednesday's contest. He struck out three Huskies before giving the ball to Adam Boucher in the third inning.
- Junior Jay Beshears hit his third home run of the season on Wednesday, a solo shot to left field to cut the Northeastern lead to 2-1.
- Duke Baseball used 10 different pitchers in Wednesday's loss to Northeastern.
- Freshman Andrew Fischer extended his hitting streak to nine games with his single in the second inning.
QUOTES
- "I thought it was a really good college baseball game. Two good clubs went toe to toe and competed hard. I told our team that we will look back and recognized that we didn't do some things with our situational hitting late in the game. We probably shouldn't have been batting in the bottom of the ninth and that came back to bite us." – Head coach Chris Pollard on the quality of baseball tonight.
- "Both of the teams that came in this midweek were hitting over .300 on the year. This was a really good offense that had been playing at a really high level. They are amongst the best scoring teams in the country. Two unearned runs and we shouldn't have given those two runs, but we pitched well and competed well." – On the strong pitching performances heading into the weekend.
UP NEXT
