DURHAM – No. 18 Duke will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers Sunday at Highmark Stadium. Opening draw is set for noon on ACC Network.
LAST TIME OUT
The 18th-ranked Duke women's lacrosse team tallied a 13-10 victory over East Carolina Wednesday evening in Greenville, N.C.
Senior Maddie Jenner tallied her 100th-career goal in the victory as she scored two goals on the night and added an assist. She also registered 13 draw controls and two caused turnovers. Lexi Schmalz and Anna Callahan also netted two scores, while Katie DeSimone saw her ninth contest this spring with three or more points with two goals and an assist.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak as Duke has gone 2-5 since starting the season 3-0.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pitt comes into Sunday's contest 3-7 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
Both squads are looking for their first ACC victory this spring.
Offensively, the Panthers are led by Camdyn O'Donnell with 18 points from 14 goals and four assists and Sydney Naylor with 13 goals and five dimes. Jill Fenech takes the majority of draw controls and leads the team with 34 to go along with 14 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Goalie Hannah Van Middelem has a 12.73 goals against average and a .447 save percentage.
LAST TIME WE MET
Duke and Pitt meet for just the second time in program history as the Blue Devils captured a 15-14 win a season ago. Pitt is in its second season with women's lacrosse.
In the last meeting, Olivia Carner paced Duke offensively with a career-high five points from three goals and two assists. A handful of other Blue Devils collected two goals, including Abby Landry with three points (2G, 1A) and Katie DeSimone (1G, 2A).
