DURHAM – Duke sophomore
Andrew McAdorey has been named to the USILA Team of the Week following his nine-point outing in the Blue Devils 17-9 victory over No. 7 Loyola Friday night.
McAdorey had a career night against the Greyhounds, scoring three goals and dishing six assists for a career-high nine points. In his first season playing at attack, McAdorey assisted on three of Duke's first six goals and registered the team's eighth as the Blue Devils jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first quarter. The Manorville, N.Y., native added two more assists and a goal in the second quarter to send Duke into
halftime with the 14-2 advantage.
His hat trick is the seventh of his career, while his six assists put him on a short list of seven DI players to produce six or more assists in a game this season. In seven games, McAdorey has 32 points on the year, seven fewer than he had in 17 games as a freshman. He ranks sixth in the ACC and 22nd nationally in points per game (4.57).
Duke (6-1, 1-0) is ranked fourth in the USILA Coaches poll and returns home Koskinen to close out a three-game homestand. The Blue Devils host 14th-ranked North Carolina March 17 at 6 p.m., on ACC Network and Air Force March 20 at 7 p.m., on ESPNU.
