Gameday Information
- It will be a busy day Saturday on Duke's campus as men's lacrosse hosts Bellarmine at noon and men's basketball takes on North Carolina at 6:30 p.m. Fans who have a ticket to the men's basketball game can get men's lacrosse tickets at a discounted $6 rate.
Gameday Parking
- General public parking will be available for guests attending the men's lacrosse game in the Jogging Trail Lot on NC 751/Cameron Blvd. and the Circuit Lots on Circuit Drive. All general public parking for men's lacrosse will open at 9 a.m. Parking will be free of charge from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- After 12 p.m., gameday parking fees will apply. Guests parking in general public lots (including accessible parking) are encouraged to purchase game day parking passes in advance of arrival online at my.parking.duke.edu and clicking on Duke MBB vs. North Carolina event button. Guests who do not already have an account should follow the steps to Register for One Link to purchase a pass. Passes purchased online in advance of arrival are $20. Cash sales at the lot entrance are $25 at Circuit Lots only.
The Opening Faceoff
- Duke is one of 28 teams opening the 2023 season Feb. 4 when it welcomes Bellarmine to Koskinen Stadium. The Blue Devils are 75-19 all-time in the month of February and 50-18 under John Danowski. Duke is 13-3 in season openers since 2007 with the last setback coming against Air Force in 2020.
- Bellarmine finished last season with a 4-13 overall record, defeating Hampton, VMI, Cleveland State and Detroit Mercy. The Knights were picked to finish fifth in the Atlantic Sun in a vote of the league's 10 head coaches. Benny O'Rourk and Brady Long earned preseason conference honors.
- Brennan O'Neill returns to lead the attack unit after registering 74 points from 53 goals and 21 assists. O'Neill has 98 career goals to his name, needing two to become the fastest Blue Devil to 100 goals. Zack Greer holds the record at 38 games with O'Neill on pace to do so in 35.
- The quartet of Kenny Brower, Tyler Carpenter, Wilson Stephenson and Dyson Williams were selected as captains this season. Brower and Stephenson are second-year leaders for the Blue Devils.
- Defensively, Duke returns the bulk of its defense from 2022. Kenny Brower, Tyler Carpenter, Wilson Stephenson, Will Frisoli, and Cole Krauss were some of the defensive leaders from last season with SSDMs Jake Caputo and Garrett Leadmon.

About Bellarmine
- Bellarmine opens its 2023 schedule in Durham. The Knights were 4-13 last season and are picked to finish fifth in the new 10-team Atlantic Sun Conference. Defenseman Brady Long and midfielder Benny O'Rourk represent Bellarmine on the Preseason All-ASUN squad. Long garnered All-Freshman team recognition last year after finishing second on the team in caused turnovers and third in ground balls. O'Rourk picked up first-team honors, registering 29 points on the year.
- Kyle Playsted returns as the Knights' top scorer after posting 53 points from 25 goals and 28 assists. Christian Della Rocco was third on the team with 18 goals and 29 points.
- JC Higginbotham stands between the pipes for Bellarmine. He started 15 games in 2022, posting an 11.96 goals against average and a .484 save percentage.
- Both faceoff specialists are back as Aidan Fearn and Cole Messick took 337 of the 444 faceoffs. Messick won 46 percent and Fearn 43 percent.
Home Sweet Home
- Duke had its 14-game win streak snapped last season against Jacksonville, but the Blue Devils have fared well at home overall.
- Duke is 132-25 in games in Durham under head coach John Danowski. The Blue Devils have gone unbeaten at home three times since 2007.
Man-Up Magic and Magicians
- The Blue Devils were impressive overall on man-up offense, going 24-of-40 for .600 in 2022 to rank second in the ACC and second nationally. Brennan O'Neill and Dyson Williams both are lethal on the extra man with six scores apiece. O'Neill has 15 man-up goals in his career.
