The Opening Faceoff
- Duke hits the road for the first time this season sporting a 2-0 record. The Blue Devils have scored 39 goals in their first two outings, while allowing just 15. Duke is outshooting opponents 54-36 overall in the two games.
- ¡ Jacksonville opened its 2023 campaign with a tough 12-7 loss at home to Johns Hopkins. Four players scored for the Dolphins with Brandon Galloway notching the hat trick. The first half was close, but a commanding 5-1 third quarter allowed the Blue Jays to pull away for the win. The Dolphins scored just twice in the second half.
- ¡ The attack unit of Andrew McAdorey, Brennan O'Neill and Dyson Williams have paced the Blue Devils through two games. The trio combined for 33 of the team's 59 points with all three having 11 points to their names.
- ¡ Duke's defense has been equally as successful, holding Bellarmine without a score for 32:52 and without a shot for the first 11:34 of the first quarter and High Point without a goal for 26:49. The Blue Devils have yet to give a man-up goal on eight man-down situations.
- ¡ Graduate student transfer William Helm is solid in the cage, making 23 saves, while allowing just 10 goals for a 6.22 goals against average.

About Jacksonville
- Jacksonville enters Saturday's contest with the Blue Devils after losing to Johns Hopkins, 12-7, Feb. 4. The Dolphins were ranked 17th in the USILA preseason poll and 18th by Inside Lacrosse to start the year.
- Jacksonville was picked to finish second in the Atlantic Sun and landed three players on the preseason All-ASUN team, including graduate student Max Waldbaum as the Preseason Player of the Year. Waldbaum posted 72 points a year ago, notching 48 goals and 24 assists. He had four goals and six points against Duke last season.
- Luke Millican and Troy Hettinger also were voted to the preseason all-conference squad. Millican anchors the Dolphins in the cage, posting an 8.27 goals against average and a .582 save percentage in 2022. Hettinger is a veteran short stick middie. He had 22 ground balls and eight caused turnovers and scored six goals last season.
- Nathan Kapp will take the majority of faceoffs for Jacksonville. He went 6-of-19 against Johns Hopkins and was 219-of-419 (.523) last season.

Series History
- Duke is 11-1 all-time against Jacksonville since the first meeting in 2010. The Dolphins' lone win was a 14-12 victory in Durham last season. The Blue Devils are averaging 15.9 goals per game against Jacksonville and have allowed more than nine goals twice in the matchup. Duke's average margin of victory in the 11 wins is nine goals.
Offense Firing On All Cylinders
- The Blue Devils have scored a total of 39 goals in their first two games this season, marking the most since the 1999 squad had 41 in its first two outings. Eleven different players have scored a goal and five have at least three. Under head coach John Danowski, Duke has scored at least 19 goals 38 times.
Sock Tricks
- Dyson Williams recorded his second career sock trick Tuesday night with seven goals. A sock trick is six goals in a game.
- Brennan O'Neill collected seven goals in three different games last season. He was one of 18 players to record at least seven goals in a game in 2022 and was one of two Division I players to have at least six goals in three different contests that year.
