DURHAM - The Duke fencing team returns to Bull City to host the annual Duke Meet Saturday and Sunday in Card Gymnasium.Â

SETTING THE STAGE
- Both days of competition will kick off at 8 a.m., with the final round at 3 p.m., and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra via WatchESPN.
- The ninth-ranked Duke men are slated to fence against Brandeis, Johns Hopkins, MIT, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 7 Penn State while the 12th-ranked women will battle Brandeis, MIT, No. 5 Northwestern, No. 1 Notre Dame and No. 9 Penn State.Â
- The Blue Devil women dropped a 17-10 decision to Penn State earlier this season and picked up wins over Brandeis (21-6) and MIT (21-6) at the Eric Sollee Invitational.Â
- The Duke men fell to Penn State (15-12) in the season opener in January but owns a win over Johns Hopkins (16-11) and NYU (17-10).Â
LAST TIME OUT
- At the Eric Sollee Invitational, the 10th-ranked Duke women cruised to a 6-0 victory in the team scores with wins over Boston College (20-7), Brandeis (21-6), Brown (19-8), Haverford (26-1), MIT (21-6), and NYU (22-5).
- The seventh-ranked Duke men went 4-2 overall with wins over Brandeis (16-11), Brown (18-9), Haverford (22-5), and No. 10 NYU (17-10).
- Co-captain Christina Ferrari led the entire squad with a 14-0 ledger for the foil team, followed by Elisha Tan (foil) with 14 and Hava Stone (saber) with 12.Â
- Epeeist Allen Marakov led the men's contingent with a 12-4 record, followed by foilist Finn Hossfeld (10-3) and saberist Stephen Kim (10-4).Â
THE SEASON AT A GLANCE
- Three meets through the regular season, the women are 14-3 overall while the men own a 10-6 record. Both the women's foil and saber squad has played to a 15-2 ledger.Â
- Individually, Ferrari leads the women's contingent with a 35-4 record, followed by Rachel Koo (foil) with 31 wins.Â
- On the men's side, Kim owns 26 wins, followed by Hossfeld with 23.Â
FENCE FOR THE FIGHT
- The fencing team, in partnership with the Duke Cancer Institute, announced the Fence for the Fight campaign will relaunch for the 2023 season in memoriam of Elizabeth Beguinet. Elizabeth, Director of Administration and Recruiting for the Duke fencing program, passed away December 17 after a long fight with breast cancer.Â
- With 987 wins so far this season in combination with pledging, the Fence for the Fight campaign has totaled $36,191.95.
- Please support both Elizabeth and Duke fencing by partnering with us and the Duke Cancer Institute by making a pledge to fight breast cancer. With your support, the money raised will go towards cancer research, care of patients and a room dedicated in the Duke Cancer Center in honor of Elizabeth. More informationÂ

Whitford Lot (GPS Address: 110 Whitford Drive, Durham, NC 27708) located off Whitford Drive. Whitford drive can be accessed off Science Drive via either 751/Cameron Blvd or Towerview Rd. There will be a parking attendant on-site and no charge to park in the lot. The lot will open two (2) hours prior to the start of the match. If additional events cross over with the fencing competition, alternative parking may be required and will be communicated in a Parking & Traffic Alert onÂ
