RANKINGS ROUNDUP
- The first NET ranking of the 2023-24 campaign was released on Monday with Duke checking in at No. 24. The Blue Devils were one of four ACC teams rated in the top 25 of the NET. The other three were No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 9 NC State and No. 18 Louisville.
- In the NET rankings as of 12.8.23, Duke sits at No. 32
- As a team, Duke currently ranks among the top-five nationally in blocks with the Blue Devils checking in at No. 2 in the NCAA with 7.2 rejections per game -- No. 1 in the ACC.
- Individually, graduate student Camilla Emsbo is slotted 37th in the nation in total blocks (15).
- The Blue Devils are also ranked among the top 50 in the NCAA in three-point percentage (37.3 -- 30th) and steals per game (10.7 -- 45th.
SUPERLATIVE SPOTLIGHT
- Duke's reserves are providing a spark for the Blue Devils, boasting an average of 24.4 points per game. The Blue Devils have scored more bench points than their foes in seven games, totaling 220 points while opponents have put up just 117.
- In four of the games, the Blue Devils have finished with a substantial margin in bench production -- 34-15 (Richmond), 24-6 (Coastal Carolina), 28-5 (at Stanford), 33-11 (NC Central) and South Carolina (22-12).
- Duke has received strong production on the offensive glass this season producing 13.8 offensive rebounds per game.
- The Blue Devils have parlayed those extra possessions into 109 second-chance points, nearly 20 points better than their opponents (92). Duke has held the advantage in five games, including sizeable margins against Richmond (18-5) and Coastal Carolina (20-2).
- On the fastbreak, the Blue Devils hold a 109-47 edge and have limited eight opponents to fewer than eight points in transition.
- Duke has commanded the inside early in the season, outscoring its foes 298-236.
- The Blue Devils are plus seven in points in the paint compared to their opponents, 33.1 to 26.2, and have finished with double-digit margins in five contests.
