DURHAM - With the spring season just around the corner, the Duke women's lacrosse program shines its spotlight on its freshman class, continuing on with Caitlin Barrett.
Caitlin Barrett joins the Duke women's lacrosse team from Manhasset, N.Y., where she attended Manhasset High School.
Most recently during her senior year, she collected 40 goals and nine assists as a New Balance All-American. She was named to the USA U20 Training Team and was a USA High School All-America honoree. She was ranked No. 18 in the 2023 class and was recognized by Newsday as a first team All-Long Island and a Top-100 Player on Long Island.
As a midfielder, she tallied 34 goals and eight assists last season as a junior. She collected All-American honorable mention, NYSPHSAA Class C All-Tournament Team, Newsday All-Long Island second team, All-Nassau County and LILJ All-LIC first team honors as a junior. She was also named a top-100 Long Island lacrosse player from Newsday as a junior.
Barrett was selected to both the USA U18 and U16 National Development Teams. She lettered three years in both basketball and soccer and averaged 14 points per game as a point guard. Her brother, Timmy, is currently a senior long stick midfielder for Boston University.
Barrett joins seven other Blue Devils in the freshmen class.
