DURHAM – Duke women's lacrosse head coach
Kerstin Kimel and the coaching staff has announced the 2023 signing class.
The class features eight signees –

Cameron Christie,

Reese Woodworth.
Caitlin Barrett
Midfield || Manhasset, N.Y. || Manhasset High School
Caitlin Barrett joins the Duke women's lacrosse team from Manhasset, N.Y., where she currently attends Manhasset High School. As a midfielder, she tallied 34 goals and eight assists last season as a junior. She collected All-American honorable mention, NYSPHSAA Class C All-Tournament Team, Newsday All-Long Island second team, All-Nassau County and LILJ All-LIC first team honors as a junior. She was also named a top-100 Long Island lacrosse player from Newsday as a junior. Barrett was selected to both the USA U18 and U16 National Development Teams. She lettered three years in both basketball and soccer and averaged 14 points per game as a point guard. Her brother, Timmy, is currently a junior long stick midfielder for Boston University.

Cameron Christie
Goalie || Annapolis, Md. || Severn School
Cameron Christie comes to Durham from Annapolis, Md., where she is currently a senior at Severn School. She has lettered two years as a goalie and most recently during her junior year posted a 63% save percentage between the pipes and earned the team's player award for her efforts. Christie comes from a highly athletic family – her dad, Joe, played lacrosse at Drexel and has seen several coaching jobs, including at Stanford, Drexel, the Annapolis Hawks, Episcopal Academy and now at Severn. Her sister, Julia, sails at the Naval Academy while her cousin played Division I hockey at Merrimack College. Outside of lacrosse, Christie also lettered in basketball as a point guard.
Why did you choose Duke?
"I chose Duke because of the community and atmosphere of the school. Everyone is always pushing each other and supporting each other, which you do not find everywhere. Regarding the community, no matter who you are or what you're interested in there is a community for you. I think it's so special that Duke has this and can provide a sense of belonging for anyone that's a part of the community, which isn't just the students, it's the people committed, alumni, faculty, staff and fans. This is something that I didn't see anywhere else, and instantly wanted to be a part of it."
Reagan Digby
Attack || Cherry Hills, Colo. || Valor Christian High School
Reagan Digby comes to Durham from Cherry Hills, Colo., where she attends Valor Christian High School. As an attacker, she has lettered the last three years and most recently during her junior year collected 49 goals and 47 assists for 96 points. Her 96 points and 47 assists led all athletes in her state. She was named a 2022 All-American, league MVP, first team All-State and first team All-Conference last season. She also lettered three years in field hockey as a forward where she was on the varsity squad as a freshman and a two-time state runner-up.
Why did you choose Duke?
"I chose Duke because of the amazing culture that Coach Kimel has built since she pioneered the program. I also want to make history with the women's lacrosse program and win a National Championship. Duke's academic excellence is also unmatched."
Lena Doreen
Midfield/Defense || Middletown, Md. || Glenelg Country School
Lena Doreen joins the program from Middletown, Md., where she attends Glenelg Country School in Ellicott City, Md. As a midfielder/defender, she made her school's varsity team as a sophomore in 2021 and was the starting midfielder during her junior campaign a season ago. She also lettered in basketball during her freshman year when she was a varsity starter. Her brother, Colby, is a sophomore on the North Carolina football team.
Why did you choose Duke?
"I chose Duke because it is the only place I truly saw myself going to college and playing Division I lacrosse. I have always wanted to go to Duke, since sixth grade, for its amazing academics and athletics, its great coaching staff and its special community that is unmatched to any other university."
Bella Goodwin
Midfield || Basking Ridge, N.J. || The Pingry School
Bella Goodwin comes to Duke from Basking Ridge, N.J., where she attends The Pingry School. As a 2022 US Lacrosse All-American and first team All-State selection, she collected 87 goals, 56 assists and 90 draw controls last season. As a sophomore, she added 52 goals, 31 assists and 72 draw controls as a first team All-Conference and third team All-State selection. She also lettered in basketball, soccer and field hockey and was a first team All-Conference selection during her junior year in basketball.

Chloe Miccolis
Defense || Summit, N.J. || Kent Place School
Chloe Miccolis is currently a senior at Kent Place School and hails from Summit, N.J. As a defender, she has tallied 82 ground balls, 41 draw controls and 32 caused turnovers. She earned first team accolades in the Freedom South Division and was named to the All-Academic team as a junior. Her father, Christopher, played college football at Stonybrook.
Why did you choose Duke?
"I chose Duke because of the community. Everyone is supportive in all aspects."
Ellie White
Midfield/Draw || Baltimore, Md. || Notre Dame Prep
Ellie White comes to Durham from Baltimore, Md., where she is currently a senior at Notre Dame Prep in Towson, Md. As a midfielder and draw specialist, she lettered the last three years under coach Mac Ford. She was selected the starting center midfielder for the Sky Walker's Blue Team, which is ranked third among the best women's club lacrosse teams in the nation. She was also the starting center midfielder for Nation United, a minority lacrosse team that promotes diversity in the sport and was selected as the team's MVP at the Nation United Summit. White earned a spot on the Under Armour All-America Baltimore Command Team and was awarded tournament honors in addition to being selected for the All-Star Award and as a Lacrosse Magazine National Watchlist Player. White comes from an athletic family as four of her cousins played college lacrosse at Notre Dame, Navy, UMBC and Dickinson. She also lettered two years in soccer as a forward.
Why did you choose Duke?
"I chose Duke because it's an athletic and academic powerhouse. I wanted to be a part of a competitive lacrosse program while receiving a phenomenal education, and Duke offers that. Team culture is also very important to me, and through my recruiting process, I learned that the Duke women's lacrosse team is a family."
Reese Woodworth
Midfield || Baltimore, Md. || The Bryn Mawr School
Reese Woodworth is currently a senior at The Bryn Mawr School and is a Baltimore, Md., native. She has lettered the last three years as a midfielder and was selected to the Baltimore All-America team twice (2020, 2022). She was part of the Sky Walker's team that won the Lax for the Cure championship and was on Maryland's American select team. She also lettered three years in both soccer and ice hockey as a team captain. Woodworth comes from an athletic family for both lacrosse and sailing. Her mom, Leigh, and dad, Graeme, were on the Dartmouth and Tufts sailing team, respectively, while her brother, Luke, sails at Stanford. Her aunt Emily and Kristin both played lacrosse.
