DURHAM – The Duke women's basketball team set a school single-game record for most three-pointers made and had four players reach double figures as the Blue Devils coasted to an 88 to 42 victory over the Chanticleers Thursday evening at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Duke (2-0) knocked down 14 three-pointers in the contest, finishing the night shooting 42 percent (14-of-33) from long range.
Ashlon Jackson led all scorers as the sophomore exploded for a career-high 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor, including 5-of-11 from distance. She also added three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Senior

Jadyn Donovan (10) rounded out the quartet of double-digit scorers for the Blue Devils.
Coastal Carolina (0-2) was led by Deaja Richardson with 12 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Duke got off to a red-hot start with 14 unanswered points. Kennedy Brown opened the game with a splash from distance, drilling a trifecta from the right slot.
- Jadyn Donovan crashed the glass and converted a stick-back bucket and Brown cashed in another triple from the right side. Donovan added a short turnaround jumper in the paint to put Duke up, 10-0, and force Coastal Carolina to burn a timeout with 7:09 to go in the first.
- The Blue Devils added four more points to their lead before the Chanticleers finally broke the seal on the goal via a three-point play by Delana Carter. Coastal scored six of the next eight to pull with seven (16-9) with under four minutes to go.
- A 10-0 run by Duke to close the period gave the Blue Devils a 26-9 margin after one.
- The second quarter was more closely contested with Duke holding the 19-12 scoring edge.
- Emma Koabel paced the home team across the 10-minute session with nine points, including back-to-back hits from distance to push Duke's lead to 22, 43-21, at the 1:12 mark.
- Ashlon Jackson tallied five of her 13 first-half points in the second period with Donovan, sophomore Taina Mair and freshman Delaney Thomas also contributing to the quarter scoring. Duke held a 45-21 lead at the break.
- The Blue Devils outscored the Chanticleers, 21-13, in the third as Duke saw its lead balloon to 32 points. Duke featured five different scorers in the frame led by Jackson (6) and Mair (5).
- The fourth quarter was much of the same with the Blue Devils outscoring Coastal Carolina, 22-8. Jackson hit three field goals for six points in the final stanza while rookie Jordan Wood knocked down her first field goal as a Blue Devil.
- Duke held Coastal Carolina to just 29 percent shooting from the floor and forced the Chanticleers into 30 turnovers. The Blue Devils scored 34 points off the takeaways.
- Wood led all Duke players on the defensive end with a career-high four steals. All 10 Blue Devils registered at least one steal in the game.
GAME NOTES:
- Duke improves to 2-0 this season, winning both games by an average of 38 points.
- The Blue Devils set a school record for most three-pointers made in a single game, going 14-of-33 (42.4 percent) from distance.
- Duke held Coastal Carolina to just 29 percent shooting from the floor and forced the Chanticleers into 30 turnovers. The Blue Devils scored 34 points off the takeaways.
- Freshman Jordan Wood and graduate student Camilla Emsbo paced all Duke players on the defensive end in steals and blocks, respectively, with Wood collecting a career-high four steals while Emsbo notched four of Duke's 12 blocks. All 10 Blue Devils registered at least one steal in the game.
- Duke finished the contest outscoring Coastal Carolina 20-2 on second chance points and held a plus-18 margin (24-6) in bench scoring.
- The Blue Devils had two players set career-highs Thursday night with sophomores Ashlon Jackson pouring in 25 points and Emma Koabel adding 12 off the bench.
- Senior Kennedy Brown matched her career high with 16 points in the game, tallying three blocks three rebounds and two assists as well.
- Jadyn Donovan also had a solid outing with 10 points and seven rebounds – the latter tied for a team high with Emsbo.
- Jordan Wood's three steals in the fourth quarter tied for third most in the period all-time at Duke.
