DURHAM - Head coach Jolene Nagel reached 700-career wins as the Duke volleyball team swept Virginia Tech, 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-20), Sunday afternoon at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Nagel becomes the ninth active Division I head coach to reach 700 wins during her 36 seasons. She owns 497 at the helm of the Blue Devils, 118 at Georgetown and 85 at Cornell.
Duke was once again led by Kerry Keefe and Gracie Johnson with 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Johnson committed just one error on 20 swings to hit .550 percent for the match.
Setter Emma Worthington dished 33 dimes, while libero Madison Bryant paced the defense with 13 digs. Jess Robinson led the blocking with seven, followed by Keefe and Rachel Richardson with three. Johnson and Worthington each registered two aces.
Lizzie Fleming and Jess Robinson combined for 13 kills and no errors this afternoon. The middle blocking duo has combined for no errors in five contests this fall (NC Central, Coastal Carolina, Santa Clara, Syracuse and Virginia Tech), becoming the only team in Division I to do so.
