Patrick Jameison is No. 36 and
Stevie Finnell rounds out the group at No. 70.
Syracuse leads the way with eight selections, while Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Penn and Princeton each have seven apiece.
These rankings were compiled by the IL staff and former Director of High School and Recruiting Ty Xanders in mid-October. Check back in the coming weeks for additional "star" player ratings in the incoming freshman class, plus rankings of the top classes and more in-depth looks at the top players.
Christmas, Delgado, Girard, Jameison and Johnston all were selected to the Senior All-America Lacrosse Game following their stellar senior seasons.
Jameison, a product of Episcopal High School, was voted to the Washington Post All-Met honorable mention squad this past spring. He garnered a spot in the National Senior All-American Game, helping The Americans to a 15-13 victory. Jameison made nine saves in his time between the pipes, holding the opposing Nationals team scoreless for an extended stretch in the second half.
Hailing from Manhasset, N.Y., Girard won nearly 86 percent of his faceoffs this past season, earning the John Krumenacker award as Nassau County's most outstanding high school lacrosse player. He garnered USA Lacrosse All-America honors as a junior and has been instrumental in Manhasset's success on the field during his career.
Johnston, considered one of the top midfielders in the 2023 recruiting rankings, played lacrosse for Avon Old Farms. A native of Lake Forest, Ill, he was among those picked in the first wave for the Senior All-America game and joins
Zach Jepson on the Duke roster as an Avon Old Farms alum.
A top scorer in the 2023 class, Delgado recently earned the Most Valuable Player award at the National Senior All-American game after leading the Americans squad to victory with four goals and three assists. He joins his brother,
AJ Delgado, on the Duke roster.
Christmas, playing his scholastic lacrosse with McDonogh, can play either long stick midfield or close defense. A physical presence at 6-4 and over 200 pounds, Christmas helped lead the Eagles to the MIAA State Championship this past season. McDonogh allowed just five goals in the title game victory.
A USA Lacrosse All-American in 2023, Finnell registered 41 goals and 17 assists for Garden City his senior season. He garnered all-county honors as a junior, scoring 15 goals and 10 assists. The 6-foot-2 midfielder also played football for Garden City and was the Thorp Award winner for the team.
