DURHAM – Duke women's basketball alumna Chelsea Gray and the Las Vegas Aces punched their ticket to the 2022 WNBA Finals following Gray's historic playoff performance in the team's, 97-92, series-clinching victory over the Seattle Storm Tuesday night.
After pouring in 29 points and 12 assists in the game-three win, Gray put on another dazzling display in game four to help her team polish off the 3-1 series win. In a game that featured five ties and four lead changes – three of each in the fourth quarter – Gray was once again there in the clutch. She drilled three straight tough jumpers over the final 2:03 of game time and finished with 31 points, 10 assists and six rebounds.
Gray's statline made her the first player in WNBA playoff history to top 30 points and 10 assists, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. The Hayward, Calif., native has been on a tear this postseason, averaging 24.0 points on 63 percent shooting from the floor and a 59.5 percent clip from distance.
The Aces will await the winner of the other semifinal matchup between the Chicago Sky-Connecticut Sun semifinal. The series finale between the two squads is set for Thursday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
