DURHAM – Duke fencing head coach
Alex Beguinet announced the 2022-23 competition schedule Wednesday. The spring slate features five regular season meets, including the annual home meet. Duke will also serve as the host site for the NCAA Championship.
Both the men and women will kick off the 2022-23 season Nov. 5-6 at the M. Garrett Collegiate Open, hosted by Penn State. To start the new year, Duke will compete Jan. 15 at the Penn State Duals before heading back to the state of Pennsylvania for the Philadelphia Invitational Jan. 21, hosted by UPenn. The Blue Devils will close out the month of January at the Eric Sollee Invitational Jan. 29 in Cambridge, Mass.
The Blue Devils will start the month of February with the annual Duke Meet to compete in front of their home crowd Feb. 11-12 in Card Gymnasium.
Duke will then turn its attention to the postseason, beginning with the ACC Championship Feb. 25-26 in Chestnut Hill, Mass., hosted by Boston College.
Next on the slate for Duke's qualifiers will be the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional March 11.
The 2023 campaign will conclude with the NCAA Championship March 23-26 in Durham. The NCAA Fencing Championship comes to Durham for the first time since 1966 when Duke hosted the NCAA Men's Championship. The 2023 NCAA Fencing Championship will be contested at Cameron Indoor Stadium, which was also home to the 2022 ACC Fencing Championship.
