QUOTES
- "They came out fighting from the beginning and made it very difficult for us and we had to play with a lot of their pressure. I thought we handled it somewhat well at times and not so well at times in the first half. We re-organized at halftime and switched our formation a little bit and played a bit more direct which was crucial because they make it so difficult for us in the midfield. We had to play a little bit more direct to offset their defense and luckily, we were able to get that goal to make the difference." – head coach John Kerr on adjustments made at halftime that led to the game-winning goal.
- "He's always been hungry, but his quality is improving by the minute and he's looking to score. He's dangerous every time he gets in that area, whether on the dribble or on the pass. On free kicks he's obviously a crucial difference maker and we're pleased to have him." – Kerr on Shakur Mohammed's step forward on offense in 2022.
- "They [Duke's defense] are tough and they won a lot of head balls. They were up for the task for the whole game, it just got a little bit harder earlier, and we weren't ready for the onslaught. We re-adjusted ourselves and re-organized at halftime and I thought we were a very strong team in the second half." – Kerr on the defensive effort by Duke.
