DURHAM – Traveling to Boston this weekend for the annual ACC/Big 10 Cup, the Duke field hockey team will serve as ambassadors of the sport at one of the nation's most well-known sports landmarks – Fenway Park.
The Blue Devils will take part in Field Hockey Night hosted by the Boston Red Sox, Saturday, Sept. 3. Joining Duke are the other three teams from the weekend tournament – Boston College, Maryland and Northwestern.
Duke, coming off an outstanding opening weekend, will take part in a Red Sox pregame meet and greet with young field hockey players. The Blue Devils will sign autographs and talk about the sport and school to aspiring athletes in the sport.
The Red Sox welcome those interested in having their young field hockey players meet the Blue Devils to purchase tickets at a special rate and head to 521 Overlook for the 90-minute session. Bleacher tickets are available for $40, while grandstand tickets are $43 per person. Tickets are available

The event begins at 521 Overlook at 2:40 p.m., Sept. 3 and first pitch against the Texas Rangers is 4:10 p.m.
In addition to meeting with the next generation of field hockey players, the Blue Devils also have the opportunity to sit and watch the Red Sox game and partake in any in-stadium videoboard promotions.
Duke is 2-0 to start the season, besting a pair of top-20 teams last weekend. The Blue Devils defeated No. 8 Rutgers in a 2-1 penalty stroke shootout and outlasted No. 16 Saint Joseph's 1-0 in double overtime the following afternoon.

Piper Hampsch was named the PNC Achievers Duke Student-Athlete of the Week following her standout performance in the two contests. Hampsch finished the weekend with 11 saves and made three more in the shootout. She moved to 11th on the Duke career chart with 172 saves.
The Blue Devils open the ACC/Big 10 Cup against reigning NCAA Champion and No. 1 Northwestern Sept. 2 at 3 p.m. Duke battles No. 4 Maryland Sept. 4 at 12 p.m.
