Hannah Miller helped lead the United States U-21 Women's National Team to the bronze medal at the Uniphar 5-Nations Tournament held in Dublin, Ireland last week.
The United States finished the competition with a 2-2 overall record in round robin play, outscoring its opponents 13-4. The U.S. faced Netherlands, India, Ireland and Ukraine in round-robin action, picking up wins over Ukraine and Ireland to earn a spot in the third-place match. Miller finished the tournament with three goals, including a pair in a span of two minutes to lift the U.S. to a thrilling 3-2 victory over host Ireland in the final game of round-robin play. In the ensuing third-place match, Miller and the United States beat Ireland 4-0 to bring home bronze.
Miller was one of 20 athletes selected to the U-21 women's national team roster. The Uniphar 5-Nations Tournament was the first competition following the FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup earlier this spring.Β Miller has been a mainstay in the U.S. Women's National Team system as a member of both the U-19 and U-17 squads during her career. She joined the U-19 team for a Germany Tour in the spring before her rookie season at Duke and was the captain of the U-17 squad during a tour in Uruguay.
A three-year starter for the Blue Devils attack, Miller has been a dynamic part of Duke's offense throughout her career. In 54 career games, the native of Malvern, Pa., has 18 goals and eight assists for 44 points. She currently ranks 48th in Duke history in points and is six points away from becoming the 42nd Blue Devil in program history to score 50 points in a career.
The Blue Devils return to campus for the 2022 season in early August with the season set to begin in early September.
