EUGENE, Ore. – Graduate student
Lauren Hoffman advanced to the semifinal round of the 400m hurdles behind a steady showing in Thursday's first round race on the opening day of competition at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships.
After competing on the same track two weeks ago at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Hoffman made her return to Hayward Stadium a good one as she booked her spot in Friday's semifinal via a finish of 56.08 seconds. The Haymarket, Va., native's time was the second-fastest time recorded by a collegiate in Thursday's race.

Emily Cole get things going on Friday with the first rounds of the U20 100m hurdles (4:50 p.m.) and 3000m steeplechase (9:05 p.m.), respectively, while Hoffman gears up for the 400m hurdles semifinal slated for 10:04 p.m.
Should they move on to the next round, Turner would compete in the finals of the U20 100m hurdles Friday evening at 7:57 p.m. Hoffman would advance to the 400m hurdles final on Saturday, June 25 at 5:51 p.m., while Cole would advance to Sunday's 3000m steeplechase final scheduled for 5:23 p.m.
