DURHAM – Recent Duke graduate
Catriona Barry earned Academic All-America® honors by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as announced Wednesday.
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Barry was selected Academic All-District III in May and earned a spot on the Academic All-America® ballot. She was named a third team honoree for the first time in her career.
After being named one of 25 Tewaaraton Award nominees, Barry was unstoppable this spring for the Blue Devils as arguably one of the best offensive players in the country.
With at least four goals in nine of the 20 games this season, Barry led the team with 56 goals and 37 assists for 93 points. In Duke's 22-13 victory over High Pcoint (2/20/22), the Napa, Calif., native tallied 11 points (7G, 4A), which tied for first on Duke's individual single-game records list. In Duke's victory at Virginia Tech, Barry dished a career-high six dimes, which ties for first on Duke's individual single game records list.
Barry closed her Duke career with 193 career points to rank 11th in program history. Her 93 points this spring are third in Duke history.
