Dyson Williams recorded his 10th hat trick of the 2022 season to help the ninth-ranked Blue Devils to a 19-11 victory over No. 18 North Carolina Sunday evening.
With his first goal of the evening, Williams became the 50th Blue Devil to reach 100 career points. He has 102 career points from 88 goals and 14 assists in 39 career games. He ranks 47th in Duke history and is only 12 goals away from becoming the 22nd Blue Devil to 100 career goals.
Williams tied the game at four in the first quarter with his first tally of the evening. The Oshawa, Ontario native scored a pair of crucial goals in Duke's 9-0 run that pushed the Blue Devils ahead 14-7 after three periods.
With Duke trailing by two late in the second quarter, Williams threw in a
Joe Robertson pass to bring the Blue Devils within one. In the third quarter, Williams scored a highlight-reel behind-the-back goal to extend the Duke lead to 10-7 just 3:19 into the period.
Williams is second on the team in scoring with 39 goals and eight assists for a career-best 47 points. He has 10 hat tricks this season and 17 for his career.
The ninth-ranked Blue Devils close regular season play at No. 6 Notre Dame, May 7. Faceoff at Arlotta Stadium is set for 12 p.m., on ESPN2.
