DURHAM – The Duke Second Varsity Eight boat has been named the ACC Crew of the Week after outracing a pair of top-10 opponents at the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday.
The 2V8 opened the day with a time of 7:00.6 to defeat No. 9 Ohio State's mark of 7:03.2 in the morning session on Griggs Reservoir. In the afternoon, the Blue Devils came in nearly eight full seconds ahead of No. 4 Michigan's 2V8 with the boats crossing the finish line in 7:06.8 and 7:14.7, respectively.
Duke's veteran-led lineup included eight members of the 2V8 crew that swept its three races at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invite on March 19-20. Coxed by senior

The Blue Devils' 2V8 has taken first place in each of its six races during the spring season.
Wednesday's honor marks the third ACC Crew of the Week for Duke this season, as the Third Varsity Eight was recognized on March 9 and the Varsity Eight on March 23. The Blue Devils are next in action April 15-16 at the Big Ten Invite in Sarasota, Fla.
