The Opening Faceoff
- The No. 9 Blue Devils return to Koskinen Stadium for the final time in the regular season following a 16-day break. Duke is 10-5 overall and 2-2 in league action with two regular season games remaining.
- Sunday's contest features the final regular season game for a collection of 14 fourth-year seniors and 10 graduate students. The 14 seniors earned their bachelor degrees, while the 10 graduate students captured an advanced degree. Mike Adler finished his MBA at Duke's Fuqua School of Business for his second Duke degree and third overall degree.
- North Carolina comes to Durham with an 8-5 record and riding a tough stretch of three losses in the past four games. The Tar Heels edged Syracuse, 14-13, to earn their lone conference victory. UNC remains in the top 20 at No. 18 this week.
- Brennan O'Neill leads the offense with a career-best 65 points from 49 goals and 16 assists. Dyson Williams sits at 44 points from 36 goals and eight assists, while Nakeie Montgomery has a career-high 42 points (25g, 17a).
- Sean Lulley has 37 points overall, while Andrew McAdorey is one of the league's top scoring freshman with 34. Duke is averaging 15.27 goals per game to rank seventh nationally.
- Defensively, Kenny Brower draws the opponent's top attackman and has 13 caused turnovers and 34 ground balls. Scouting North Carolina
- North Carolina comes to Durham with an 8-5 record after a loss to Notre Dame last Thursday. The Tar Heels have lost three of their past four games and are averaging only 7.25 goals per game in that stretch. The victory came against Syracuse - the lone ACC win this season for UNC.
- The Tar Heels are averaging 12.17 goals per game and are led by Chris Gray with 45 goals and 29 assists for 74 points. Gray leads the ACC and ranks second nationally with 3.67 goals per game. The next closest player to him is Jacob Kelly with 19 goals and 15 assists for 34 points.

- Freshman Reed Landin made his debut with the first line midifeld against Virginia and rose to the occasion with a hat trick – his second consecutive hat trick.
- The Dallas, Texas native has nine goals in his past six games and has seven in his four ACC outings. Landin made his collegiate debut Feb. 4 against Robert Morris and took one shot. He notched his first goal in a comeback effort at Loyola. He registered a career-high four points (3g, 1a) against Notre Dame.
