PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Senior
Quinn Riley carded consecutive rounds under par to continue his strong late-season run as the 2022 ACC Championship began Friday at the Watersound Club's Shark's Tooth Course in Panama City Beach, Fla.
Riley is 3-under par through 36 holes and inside the top-20 to pace the Blue Devils, who are 12th at 7-over 583 (291-292) in the team standings after Friday's action.
A senior from Raleigh, Riley followed his first round at 2-under 70 and followed that with a 1-under 71 in the second round. He is tied for 17th and six strokes off the pace set by a trio of golfers at 9-under – Jacob Bridgeman from Clemson and Peter Fountain and Ryan Gerard from North Carolina.
Riley, who was the individual medalist in last start at the Stitch Intercollegiate two weeks ago, was strong on his second nine in each round, shooting a combined 3-under with four birdies and one bogey in that stretch.

Kelly Chinn (74-73) and sophomore
Ian Siebers (72-75) are each tied for 46th at 3-over 147. Sophomore
Jimmy Zheng is tied for 53rd at 5-over 149 (76-73), while freshman
Luke Sample is 56th at 7-over 151 (75-76).
North Carolina leads the team standings at 29-under, 10 clear of second-place Georgia Tech.
Duke is paired with Boston College and Virginia Tech for Saturday's final round, which begins at 9 a.m. The top four teams from the 54-hole stroke play portion of the championship advance to Sunday's match play semifinals.
