DURHAM – Men's golf senior
Quinn Riley has been named Duke's PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week, following his first career tournament win at the Stitch Intercollegiate held at Lonnie Poole Golf Club in Cary this weekend.
Riley secured his first career win in a one-stroke victory after finishing his final-round 1-under 71. The hometown native was able to hold on to the lead thanks to his stellar performance in the final round as he birdied three holes, including the par-4 10th and the par-4 13th en route to individual medalist honors. The Blue Devil was one of two golfers in the field to card three consecutive rounds under par.
Riley's winning score of 4-under 212 helped the Blue Devils secure the team title, winning the Stitch Intercollegiate for the second time (2018) and securing the 25th team title under coach
Jamie Green.
Duke concluded its regular-season tournament schedule with the victory and have a match-play dual versus NC State April 15 at the Carolina Country Club in Raleigh before the Blue Devils begin ACC play April 21 at the Watersound Club in Panama City Beach, Fla.
