DURHAM – The Duke Varsity Eight has been named the ACC Crew of the Week after sweeping three races at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invite in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
The V8 led the Blue Devils to a remarkable weekend on Melton Hill Lake, as Duke claimed first place in each of its 18 races. Coxed by sophomore

The crew finished nearly five seconds ahead of the second-place boat in each race, beginning with a time of 6:20.264 in the Saturday morning session to outpace Indiana (6:26.551). In the afternoon race, Duke finished with a time of 6:13.868 to edge No. 16 Alabama's V8 at 6:19.184.
Duke's V8 closed out the regatta with a Sunday time of 6:26.453, defeating No. 20 Tennessee by over four seconds (6:30.839).
Wednesday's honor marks the second consecutive ACC Crew of the Week for Duke, as the Third Varsity Eight received the recognition following the season-opening Carolina Cup. The Blue Devils had three boats named ACC Crew of the Week last season.
No. 12 Duke is back in action on Saturday, April 2, when it travels to Columbus, Ohio for the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual.
