DURHAM – Recent Duke graduate and current volunteer assistant coach 
Brittany Aveni will represent the United States this weekend as she gears up to take part in the women's 4x400m relay at the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia on Sunday.
Along with Aveni, the United States relay unit also features Natashia Jackson, T'Shelia Mungo and Na'Asha Robinson. The quartet will compete against a field that includes Spain, Belgium, Great Britain & Northern Ireland and Netherlands.
Action commences with heats at 6:45 a.m. ET, with the finals slated for a 2:55 p.m. ET start. CNBC will provide coverage of the meet beginning at 12 p.m. ET.
Aveni, a former middle distance runner, garnered All-ACC First Team honors in the outdoor 400m and 4x400m after delivering a career best performance at the 2021 ACC Outdoor Championships. She won two gold medals in the 400m and 4x400m relay, while also taking bronze in the 200m to help lead the Blue Devil women to the program's first ACC Championship.
She became the first Duke woman to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in three different events (400m, 4x400m relay, 4x100m relay), as well as the first five-time All-American in women's program history. Additionally, the 2021 USTFCCCA Outdoor First (400m, 4x400m) and Second Team (4x100m) All-American owns the school record in the 100 (11.35 seconds), 200 (22.96 seconds) and 400-meter (51.60 seconds) dash, as well as the 4x100 (44.02 seconds) and 4x400-meter (3:28.27) relays.
