ATLANTA – Freshman
Margo O'Meara earned All-America accolades in three-meter diving to highlight Duke's performances during the third day of the 2022 Women's NCAA Championship at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
O'Meara earned a spot in the consolation final after placing 14th in the preliminaries with a score of 324.75. She finished eighth in the consolation final to earn honorable mention honors. O'Meara, a native of St. Louis, Mo., is just the second women's diver in Duke history to earn multiple All-America honors at a single championship, joining Olympian
Abby Johnston (2010 and 2011).
Senior
Maddi Pullinger also competed in the three-meter competition, placing 36th (280.20).
Sophomores
Sarah Foley and
Catherine Purnell represented Duke in the water on Friday. Foley finished 19th in the 200 freestyle (1:45.12) while Purnell touched in 4:13.11 to place 35th in the 400 individual medley.
Foley, O'Meara, Pullinger and junior
Ali Watson will wrap up the NCAA Championship on Saturday. Foley will take on the 200 breaststroke and Purnell will compete in the 200 butterfly. O'Meara and Watson are set for platform diving.
